Art Taipei 25’
On October 26, 2025, this was my very first time participating in an art fair, which took place at the Taipei World Trade Centre. For me, it wasn’t just a normal art fair or exhibition, but also a learning experience. I learned how to organize an art fair presence and engage more directly with artists.

What Does Art Taipei Mean to Me?
As a college student, I have a dream of becoming a curator and an auctioneer. Therefore, I believe it’s crucial to attend as many of these kinds of art activities as possible to learn about exhibition movement lines, label writing, and design ingenuity. Art Taipei 25’ was an accessible chance for me to directly engage with the galleries from different countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and so on. In conclusion, it was both a learning journey and a way of relieving my stress before my midterm exams.
What Is Art Taipei? And What Fascinates Me?
The art fair displayed here differs significantly from what we typically see in art galleries. Rather than focusing on a small number of individual artists, it felt like a luxurious artistic feast, where each gallery conveyed its image and values to buyers and exhibitors. I was particularly drawn to the display style of Gana Art from South Korea. In my opinion, Gana Art created the space effectively, which made the visual experience exceptionally comfortable and pleasing since they utilized a balanced relationship between displayed art pisces and white space.
柴寶齋當代 is a gallery founded in Beijing. Luckily, I had time to visit their booth and take a closer look at delicate art masterpieces by Xia Hang. Among all of his artwork, I was truly inspired by “ 相生 ”. It expressed the message goldfish are regarded as symbols of fortune, prosperity and auspiciousness in Chinese culture. When viewed up close, the goldfish appear to be swimming leisurely through a pond. They appear to merge with one another, as though unwilling to part.

Engagement with the Artists and Gallery Owners
Through Art Taipei 25’, I was given the opportunity to chat with artists from different societies and cultural backgrounds. It was my honor to ask questions of Ms. Aiya Maguchi, such as where she finds her materials and where the inspiration for her artwork comes from. I also gained the chance to understand the display concepts shared by Ms. Chang Ching Wen.
It’s Forum Time
In addition to visiting the art fair, I also decided to join a forum discussing art capitalization. Through this forum, I was able to learn from two diverse viewpoints from different roles – galleries vs. legal dimension. The session invited a lawyer to briefly introduce the legal procedures involved in art capitalization and explain how art pieces can be appraised. Even though the lecture lasted only about 1 hour and 30 minutes, it offered an impressive amount of insight and practical knowledge from seniors in the art field.

Art Taipei is an art fair I will definitely visit again in the future. I’m lucky enough to have been a visitor at Art Taipei 2025 and to have gained such a one-of-a-kind experience.
See you next time– Art Taipei 2026!
