PR?
TEDxChung Cheng U?

  • PR:
    • We find the sponsors for food
    • We invite the speakers and performance groups.
    • We have a chance to work closely with the speaker. Just like being their personal secretary.
  • TEDxChung Cheng U: It is a TED‐licensed, youth‐driven event organized by the CCU students. In every year, we will choose a topic for the annual event, like last year “#me” and this year “蜃鏡 Mirage”.

Preparation

This year, I had the opportunity to take care of and host one of the speakers, and I was responsible for a topic related to the combination of technology and art. To be honest, at first I felt anxious about inviting speakers. The reason was mainly because choosing a speaker who suited the artist was hard to decide. And most of the speakers were rejected for numerous reasons, like we don’t have an invitation fee or the event's location is in Minxiong, or schedule conflict on that day. Because of this, I was genuinely worried about whether we could secure a speaker before the deadline. Luckily, on my ninth PR Letter, I finally received a response from Mr. Kloud 克勞德 who agreed to join the event. He even told me that he could attend all the meetings and interviews related to the event. Even though I'm not a religious person, I just want to say " Thanks God for this help.

Rehearsal Day- NOV.21

After the invitation was confirmed, everything else flowed smoothly and turned out even better than I expected. Time flew by, and soon it was November 21st, the day before the event. It was rehearsal day! I still couldn’t believe that my battlefield would arrive tomorrow. On this day, I checked where the guest resting room was and learned how to use the intercom. Additionally, I also helped other teams to prepare for the exhibition sector. I could hardly fall asleep due to the nervousness and hoping to experience a truly one-of-a-kind annual party this year.

D-Day - NOV.22

Nov. 22 was the d-day for TEDxChung Cheng U, and it was the real battlefield for PR. Today, all the speakers visited our school and shared inspiring ideas with the audience. On this day, PR served as a crucial bridge of communication. If there were any incidents happening, we needed to coordinate with the speaker immediately. For example, when the timeline was delayed, we had to inform them right away; asked them whether they wanted to take their banquet food to go, and so on. Apart from the difficulties, it was also a day full of joy and laughter which became a memorable day for me. I met the KOLs like 簡奇陞 and 郭源元 , the director of education from Lead for Taiwan 呂宥聖, and the DJ Mr. Kloud, who delivered a thoughtful speech. Not only did I get to listen to their talks, but I also had valuable opportunities to interact with them-- asking questions, taking photos, and engaging with them in the exhibition area. When the event comes to an end, it also means that it’s time to leave TEDxChung Cheng U. As a consequence, I felt reluctant to say goodbye to this event and this organization which gave me many chances to work as a PR, engaging deeply with external relations.

In my first year, I was the PR who was accountable for finding sponsors in Chiayi City. And my second year, I became the PR responsible for inviting and collaborating with the speakers. So what about next year? Will I unlock the experience of being an audience?
